HERO’S OF THE HOME LEARN HYGIENE AT HIRSCH’S
Hirsch’s Homestore recently hosted a domestic workers workshop in their Ballito branch, focusing on cleaning and personal hygiene.
Commented Hirsch’s Shane Spencer “Terrilyn Goldman from T-INC brand catalysts was the guest speaker for the morning providing a lesson on how to wash hands and demonstrating how you need to wash for at least 20 seconds while singing Happy Birthday. She then moved on to the importance of deep cleaning in your home, concentrating on areas that you would often forget about such as your fridge handles and door handles. She also demonstrated how to make sure your countertops and surfaces are properly sanitized. She then moved on to greeting and everyone was super excited about their new elbow greeting and have all pledged to teach their families and communities the tips that they learned at the workshop. Said Hirsch’s Shane Spencer. Each guest received a goodie bag filled with the new Germex Spar range of soaps and detergents that were used to demonstrate to take home.”
To celebrate the Heroines in the Home around the country, Hirsch’s have been running a Domestic Worker of the Month competition for several years now, where employers nominate their domestic workers for the title. This month Eunice Khoza took the title at the workshop! The competition is aimed at acknowledging domestic workers and the work they do. The monthly winners each receive a Hirsch’s voucher and a certificate.
“Eunice has been coming to our courses for quite some time and I was so pleased to be able to hand this over to her, Eunice was nominated by her employer Colin Bouwer who wrote in about how her work had improved from these courses and how much they appreciate her.” Said Shane
