Globally, the hospitality industry has taken one of the biggest knocks during this Pandemic. We feel deeply for the men and women who have worked long and hard to build these businesses up over the years, and we hope that when we get back to normal they will be able to get back to their happy places in the South African sun, with packed tables full of happy revellers – possibly still wearing masks, but enjoying themselves non the less!
We are starting off with the gloriously situated 9th AVENUE – WARTERSIDE, DURBAN, and Gina, who runs the restaurant sent us an amazingly delicious Caesar Salad Dressing recipe for you to try out on your family (below)
The restaurant is situated on the Durban Waterfront and they employ just over 40 staff – close to 50 if you include the car guards and security team. They are currently not trading at all. This would have been their busiest times of the year – Easter, the Travel Indaba, Mother’s Day and Wedding functions, so it has been an impossible time for them right now. Legally they are allowed to deliver take away but logistically, they’re in a poor position, being in town as it is far to travel to collect or deliver.
When they’re back in business, visit them at 2 Maritime Place, Harbour, Durban, 4001
